Who has access to supplier chat?

Different roles and their access levels

Request owner

  • Can start conversations

  • Can send and reply to messages

  • Receives email notifications

Recruiter

  • Can send and reply to messages

  • Receives email notifications

Superusers and report viewers

  • Can read conversations

  • Cannot send messages

  • Do not receive notifications

This ensures clear ownership of supplier communication.

When conversations become read-only

Supplier conversations automatically become read-only in certain situations:

  • The request is closed or cancelled

  • The candidate is rejected

  • The candidate is withdrawn

When this happens, the conversation history is preserved but new messages cannot be sent.

You will see a banner explaining why the conversation is locked.

If request ownership changes

If the ownership of a request is transferred:

  • The new request owner gains full access to the conversation

  • The previous owner loses write access

The full message history remains available to the new owner.
