Active Assignments
What it shows:
The Active assignments chart tracks how many assignments were active at any point in time.
It helps you see your organisation’s overall workload, capacity levels, and how demand for consultants fluctuates. Rising curves may indicate increased project activity or growth, while dips can signal completed initiatives or reduced consultant usage.
Why it’s useful: This view helps you understand resourcing needs, monitor trends in external workforce usage, and prepare for upcoming changes.
Active Consultants
What it shows:
The Active consultants chart displays the actual number of consultants working in your organisation over time.
While related to active assignments, this view focuses on individuals rather than the number of assignments, helpful when a consultant might have multiple or split engagements.
Why it’s useful: It gives you a clear sense of the real workforce size and helps track onboarding, offboarding, and retention of consultants throughout the year.
Average Hourly Rate
What it shows:
This chart monitors the average hourly rate across all active consultant assignments within the selected timeframe.
It can reveal cost patterns such as changes in market pricing, shifts toward more senior roles, or effects from renegotiated contracts.
Why it’s useful: Understanding your average rate over time helps you control spend, evaluate supplier pricing, and benchmark future assignments.
Assignment Spend
What it shows:
Assignment spend highlights the total cost incurred from assignments during the selected period.
It reflects actual spend based on active work performed — a clear financial view of what your organisation has invested in external talent.
Why it’s useful: This chart supports budgeting, cost analysis, and identifying periods where spend is higher or lower than expected.
Remaining Assignment Spend
What it shows:
This chart forecasts future expenses for all ongoing assignments, based on their scheduled duration and current rates.
The data is only reliable if the underlying assignment estimates are accurate, as changes to end dates or rates will directly affect the forecast.
Why it’s useful: It helps you anticipate future spend, plan budgets, and understand financial obligations tied to ongoing assignments.
Top Suppliers Currently
What it shows:
This chart lists the top 10 suppliers ranked by the number of active assignments they currently have.
It gives a snapshot of which suppliers are most engaged in your organisation right now.
Why it’s useful:
It helps you identify key supplier relationships, understand concentration of spend, and evaluate whether your supplier distribution aligns with your strategy.
